Tariq Osei

Tariq Osei works across natural resist-dyed textiles, works on handmade cotton rag paper, and mixed-media assemblages. His practice is deeply informed by coastal West African fishing communities and the spiritual symbolism of water spirits. By combining indigo chemistry with sumi ink and ceramic clay slips, Osei crafts works that feel both ancient and startlingly contemporary.
